Some vehicles will disable even the MANUAL door locks if the key remote is damaged and sets the locks and alarm while you are inside the vehicle. It will not crank, the windows will not roll down, and the doors cannot be unlocked remotely, or manually. Landrover Discovery is such a vehicle. Trust me, I learned this the hard way... just today. If you even suspect that your remote is damaged or has gotten wet, do not trust it to function properly no matter how normal it may seem. Particularly in hot summer months, this could be deadly for yourself, and especially for young children. While police and others are laughing off the issue, and talking about Family Guy episodes, you will be baking inside your car. Enough said. This is serious.
